In this video extracted from the BBC, HH says that he cannot control or tell the Tibetans to shut up regarding the Tibetan Independence movement. It is very important that HH holiness tells them to stop or else many more will get killed. Embarrassing the Chinese govt will only make the crackdown in Tibet more severe. The Tibetans in Tibet will suffer. HH is the only person they will remotely listen to. They have to protest peacefully, as they are hopelessly outnumbered by the Chinese army. Supresssion will be brutal.

With the Dorje Shugden issue, HH says that he will go all the way with this issue. Why is it in that issue, he will make the Tibetans listen by saying it is a threat to tibet and his life. Isnt many ppl being killed in Tibet a 'threat' to his life, reputation and future of peaceful tibet-sino relations? Aren't the safety of both the Tibetans and Chinese in Tibet upmost in HH's mind. If he can make so many speeches that hurt many regarding the Dorje Shugden Ban, surely he can make many speeches to stop the violent protests that can save many lives in Tibet. Isn't saving lives much more worth speaking about and spending money on by the Tibetan Govt in exile?

These days it is widespread and believed that HH orchestrated the Lhasa uprising in which so many were killed. In the video you see monks throwing stones and sticks at the Chinese. You also see them violently tearing down doors and breaking windows. HH should send a message to all of them that they are monks, andf to be seen doing that brings the prestige of the Tibetan Sangha down. Even in the protests by Burmese Sangha in Burma, you do not see Burmese sangha behaving such as the Tibetan Sangha behaves. HH should say something of that. He should make speeches to ask the Tibetan Sangha in Tibet to stop being violent, and acting violent. If he can go all the way with the Dorje Shugden issue, why can't he go all the way to stop the many monks rioting in Lhasa. After all monks can be patriotic. But the practice of Buddhist peace, gentleness and forgiveness should be above patriotism. After all, it brings the prestige of the monks down in the eyes of the world. These videos are being shown everywhere on the news. It makes the HH look very bad. If HH Dalai Lama can go all the way with the dorje shugden ban, why can't he go all the way to ban monks from protesting and why can't he asks the Tibetans to 'Shut up' and don't create violence??

Going all the way with the Dorje Shugden ban which restricts religious freedom and HH having the feeling he has the power to stop this practice that goes back 350 years, why can't he go all the way with banning the violence of the Sangha. He can say that violence by the Sangha shortens his life and endangers the Tibetan Cause. That is what he said of the Dorje Shugden issue. How can that apply? Simple. The main support the world gives Tibetans is via because of Tibetan Buddhism. Tibet has no other famous 'export' commodity from their country. No scientists, doctors, actors, writers, artists that are world famous or contributes to humankind. When we think of Tibet, we think Tibetan Buddhism immediately. So if the Sangha's prestige is damaged or lost, so will Tibetan Buddhism. If Tibetan Buddhism's prestige is lost, so will the support for Tibet. So HH should lift the ban on shugden and put a ban on rioting monks, sangha and the violence that arises from them. It is a very bad public image. Since they wear the robes and HH wears the robes, and he is their leader it reflects badly.

  • The CCP Regime has engulfed the entire nation with its doctrine,

and its propaganda is instilled into the minds of people beginning with elementary school age children.

Throughout a person’s life social, academic and financial advancement is possible to only those who have absorbed the CCP’s brainwashing fully.

This is measured by a person’s responses to questions on school and state exams.

  • Tibetan people are free. The Tibetan culture is preserved in Tibet.

The real issue is these "exiles" created from DL's failed insurrection 50 years ago. These "exiles" in India are a threat to Tibetans in China's Tibet.

Their prosperity does NOT lie in the disruption of lives of the 6.5 million Tibetans in Tibet. Terrorism is not the solution, you angry and jealous people in Dharamsala India.

  • Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region will offer pension and medical insurance policies to monks and nuns at all monasteries in the plateau region starting from next year, under a new policy issued here this week.

All registered clergy aged 18 and over can apply for free for the policies, according to the social security measures.

  • "It's a major approach to improve Tibetan people's livelihood," said Wu Yingjie, deputy secretary of Tibet's regional committee of the Communist Party of China.

The move is aimed at protecting the rights of monks and nuns by extending public services to their monasteries, he said.

  • "The new measure has removed the household registration barrier, which confined the clergy's access to social security services to their home towns," said Ngawang, a monk at Ganden Monastery near Lhasa.

Ganden Monastery has more than 300 registered monks, but only the 70 Lhasa residents among them are covered by local social security schemes.

The rest of the clergy, from other Tibetan communities in the Tibet autonomous region and the neighboring Qinghai and Sichuan provinces,

  • have so far been uncovered by Lhasa's social security services, accessible only to locals, said Ngawang.

"The new policy will enable all the monks to get pension and medical insurance here in Lhasa," he said.

According to the new regulations, a monk can pay from 100 to 1,200 yuan a year into his pension fund and get a government subsidy ranging from 30 to 85 yuan a year.

  • After a monk turns 60 and has paid his premium for up to 15 years, he will get 120 yuan a month as a basic pension, plus a monthly return from his account which averages 0.7 percent of its total balance.

Monks who are already over 60 upon their application will get 120 yuan a monthly as a basic pension income, and will not have to pay their premiums, the document said.

Meanwhile, a monk can pay 60 yuan a year for his medical insurance and be subsidized 220 yuan by the government,

  • comprised of 160 yuan from Tibet's regional government, 40 yuan from the city or prefecture government, and 20 yuan from the county government.

Registered monks aged over 65 and nuns over 60 will enjoy medical insurance for free without having to pay a premium.

Beneficiaries of the medical insurance will get a maximum annual reimbursement of 50,000 yuan per person for their medical expenses.

  • The document said monasteries will get a government subsidy equal to the total insurance premium paid by its clergy during the previous year for encouraging the clergy to join the social security scheme.

Meanwhile, such bonus subsidies will also be awarded to monasteries and clergy that are honored by the local government for law abidance and patriotism -- including acts to maintain social stability, according to the document.

  • The new measure, set to take effect in January, has received a warm welcome from the clergy at major Tibetan monasteries.

"It's a blessing for the monks and nuns. Now we don't have to worry about falling ill or getting old," said Ngawang Tongjor at Lhasa's Drepung Monastery.

The clause about the subsidy bonus is an important stimulus for monasteries and their clergy to abide by law and maintain social stability, said Lhapa, a monk at Jokhang Temple.
