@hennyjess No where has it ever been said that Fintan Stanley wrote the Bluebell polka.....It was written by Florence Stanley IF you see Fintan again please give him my regards

just in case anyone is interested Fintan Stanley is home on Oct 4th in Ireland to play a few dates. He might even play the bluebell for a few. Four dates in all I think.

Spoke with my dear frlend Fintan on Wed and Thurs last and he DID NOT write the Bluebell polka. Just coinsidence that it's written by an F Stanley. No connection.

Well, what can I say ? I must try & find out WHO the composer was / is.
Possibly the tune is older than one would imagine

Fintan Stanley does indeed play it at that pace but...he never plays it the same way twice nor any other piece. That's' what make him individual.

Aye well, I ALWAYS gave the credit to him as I knew from a young age Shand did not compose this tune !
