Hey it was a very funny movie, it wasn't supposed to be serious for goshsakes!
I managed to get ahold of it recently, it's a friggin' hilarious flick!

I was riding around in a car with a guy who knew Zal. 1968 in NYC. He saw Zal walking and offered to give him a ride, which was up town. I remember Zal was wearing a oversized heavy sweater, and was a nice guy.

@narcoleptus this was a good flip side the way the songbooks came out in the us one had a white cover with color pictures of them on stage the other had a fake old time photo of them dressed up in old clothes there is also a john sebastian songbook that has some lovin spoonful songs

Happy music!
Got a couple of the above albums and a song book.
I seen John Sebastian live at the Isle of Wight 1970, unless I was hallucinating Zal, the lovin spoonful Guitarist was in the audience and his friends wanted him to join John Sebastian on stage, but don't remember it happening tho.
