How to filet a Copper River Red Salmon

A lifelong Alaskan homesteader, commerical fisherman and trapper, Tim Redington demonstrates how he filets a Copper River Red Salmon. Tim owns Camp Redington, a work space for people fishing, hunting, and trapping in the Copper River Basin.

Yes, there's the "Indian" way.... and then there's Tim's way. He was teasing. Quit taking everything so seriously! All the fish cutters think their way is the "best." It's a running joke here in the Basin, and fishing brings people together. Everyone knows the best fish cutters are women! The only real respect Tim gets is from the Natives.

Good God. "The Indians" around Copper River didn't use "a rock" to cut fish. Redington, you're such a boob. They call it the Copper River because...there's copper around there! Hmmmnm. Good material for making knives to cut fish. Which is exactly what "the Indians" did. Stop talking about Indians. You know nothing about them.
