Can you please explain what exactly made the "big tree" that Steven found such a compelling piece of evidence. Since you are so familiar with this subject and must know or trust Daniel Perez, I ask you. Steven stated that he never used a topographical map from back in that time frame. His main rationale to me was no stronger than the others who found their compelling tree. This was nothing but the typical "don't place me under the same scrutiny that I place all others under" bs. Yes, congrats. to these men. I'm glad I didn't try to find the site in May of this year when I went to the Oregon Caves. We were going to travel from the Caves down to that area. I thought that a marker would be up at the Patterson Site, but I had my doubts. Best regards, Linda Newton-Perry of Bigfoot Ballyhoo
We had to remove the new forest from the old in our map. This revealed the still recognizable film site from its disguise. Many thanks go to Cliff and Bobo, who helped hugely early on, to Gimlin for remembering well, and to Bill Munns, John Green, Jim Mcclarin, Al Hodgson, Daniel Perez, and many others. Even MK helped, by being our ideological enemy.
It wasn't just the big tree, but the trees in back were necessary to confirm the site and trackway location. From all the best evidence, from Dahinden's mark in Daniel's book, to Gimlin's best recollections, we were able to eliminate false locations and assumptions and rule out all downstream sites. From there we measured the location out in ten yard survey squares and noted all remaining old features on our map. Over two dozen main confirming points were found to still exist.
