This was our unedited version of the Pinery/Grand Bend storm, Saturday, July 2, 2011 as it came onto shore. You may want to turn your volume down on this one. The wind noise is deafening. I am trying to narate what we are wittnessing and yelling at the top of my lungs. You will only be able to hear bits and pieces of what I am trying to convey and that is only when my hand is blocking the wind and sand from hitting the camera. I also needed this hand to help keep my balance.
The wall cloud - shelf cloud - or as I like to call it the "wind cloud" was very pronounced on the north side. This is why the extreme wind noise. You could hear the wind from about 200 yards out. It sounded like "Vaaa Voomp, Vaaa Voomp...very deep and base like. You know, the kind that vibrates in you chest. I often record video while we are driving but it has never sounded like this.
We hope you enjoy watching this video. Let us know what emotions this stirred up inside you and if you want to see more of our videos.
Thank you for watching,

Please don't let this storm deter you from going to the Pinery. It is a beautiful park and the beach is wonderful.
My husband and I Storm Chase and we decided to video this storm as it came in over the lake. If we had been further inland I am sure the wind would not have been so strong. There was nothing to break the wind - just us LOL
The Storm lasted a whole 15 min.
