Miami Dade Police director James Loftus speaks at the memorial service for murdered Detectives Roger Castillo and Amanda Haworth. Powerful stuff.
"Don't just pretend that you love others... Really love them. Hate what is evil. Stand on the side of good. Love each other with genuine affection. Take delight in honoring each other" - James Loftus.
This extraordinary homage honors every cop, living or dead, who ever pinned-on a badge and strapped-on the courage necessary to uphold it. I am awed and overtaken by the power of words -- sImple words, strung together in interlocking passages of love and rage and honor and valor, with the political correctness filter turned-down to straightforward. It is the finest example of public responsibility I have ever witnessed, delivered by perhaps the finest leader of men and women I have ever seen.

Director Loftus, you are a very strong individual. As a Police Officer for the past 15 years and have attended at least 20 or more Police Officers funerals and have never heard a more moving and inspirational eulogy . I can honestly say ..... that day and the days since the funeral, I have not forgotten these two beautiful families in my prayers. God Bless them and the entire Law Enforcement Community ! R.I.P. Amanda and Roger, you and others that have served will never be forgotten.
