Joe POV
I heard that and I was angry. How could they turn their back on their own sister? I mean yeah she made a mistake, but she was trying to be better. The least they could do is support her.
Joe: Ill be right back.
I walked off the bus to see Amy and Angela jump back. They had been eavesdropping.
Joe: can I talk to you two inside?
They nodded and followed me into their house. Nick and Kevin were already inside and we all sat down.
Joe: What is wrong with you two? Did you hear Kelsey? Shes devastated. She really loves you guys. And you go talk to people about her. You dont include her in anything.
Kevin: is this true?
Angela: I was scared. I was scared. Because she wasnt the same Kelsey.
Amy: we were afraid that anything we said she would snap and go back to the drugs.
Joe: no, she wouldnt have. But you guys have to support her. No she isnt the same Kelsey. But you guys have to help so that we can get her back to that. And if we all turn our backs on her then we cant help her. Do you know what she told me not too long ago? That she wanted to die. She told me she wanted to die!
They looked down guilty. I heard Angela sob. Amy had visible tears.
Amy: Why would she want to die?
Joe: Because its not easy doing this. Shes doing this cold turkey and she feels sick all the time. she missed you guys. She says it would just be easier if she died.
I felt the tears sting the corner of my eyes. I still hear those words in my head, and they haunt me.
Angela and Amy got up off the couch and ran to the bus.
Angela POV
I cant believe Kelsey wanted to die. I couldnt lose my sister. Why did we have to be so, cruel? I mean she was trying so hard to change her ways, and thats all that we could ask for. We got on the bus and Kelsey looked up at us. She wiped her tears away and mumbled an apology.
Angela: No, were sorry. We were just scared Kelsey, you arent the same girl that you used to be and that scared us. We have missed you so much, and right now you just dont talk, you barely look at anyone, and we were scared that we would say something wrong and you would hate us. Im so sorry Kelsey. Please forgive me.
Kelsey came and hugged me. and she motioned for Amy to join. It was nice to be able to see Kelsey again. And I want to help her get back to her fun happy self.
Kelsey: Im so sorry you guys. I should never have taken the drugs, or anything, but I just gave into the peer pressure, I didnt mean to scare or hurt you guys.
Amy: its ok. All that matters is that you are trying. Joe told us about how youre progressing. Were proud of you.
Kelsey then smiled, a genuine smile that I hadnt seen in so long.
Joe POV
I came back onto the bus to see Kelsey laughing and smiling again. It shocked me. I hadnt seen that in so long.
Kelsey: Hey!
She came over and kissed me on the cheek then walked off the bus.
Amy: its nice to see her happy again isnt it?
Angela: sure is.
They walked off the bus. I was still in shock and Kelsey came on and laughed.
Kelsey: you coming superstar?
I nodded and grinned taking her hand she outstreched. I inter twined our fingers together. I started thinking about the improvement she was making. Maybe she needed to stay with her family. She was a lot happier around them.
Kelsey: hey you ok?
Joe: Oh yeah, Im just thinking. Im just glad to see you smiling again.
Kelsey smiled and we continued to walk. When we got into the house I pulled her aside and she looked at me confused.
Joe: do you want to stay with your family? We only have 2 weeks left in the tour, you just seem happier with them, and I think they can help you a lot.
Kelsey: really? You would let me?
Joe: Of course.
She jumped and hugged me.
Kelsey: thank you.
Joe: anything for you.
Kelsey: I love you.
Joe: I-- I love you too.
