Galadriel's Despair

I walk the forrest of my past
I walk the forrest in autumn
And the leaves that won't last
sadly fall to the bottom

There is beauty there
And the trees oh how they sigh
but sorrow is in the air and I know the forrest will die

All the branches of my memories
Some bitter some sweet
Grown deep in the bark of trees
At last they meet

And the river form the mountains here becomes just a little stream
Where shadow drinks from the fountains, so strange it may seem

I walk the forrest of my past my childish memory
Even with the spells I've cast
I love my home sincerely

The autumn now grows more colder
To far is spring to wait
My heart is no bolder
I will return to life but perhaps to late

Will they even sing of me
Will a word be spoken
No I can no longer see
My sun is broken

I know I shall fade
To the shadow I will fall
To the forrest leaves my body laid
Oh fly away my forgotten soul

No longer my footsteps seen on the ground
When my dream flies away
To the earth I am bound
Here I must stay

Not to move
Not to walk
But to watch and stalk

I am the gohst of the forrest
No longer living
No longer dead
I am the mist of the unrest
I am the essence of sad

Do not follow in my footsteps
For they are blind
Blind like my eyes

Do not follow me

I wrote this poem as a dedication to my good friend Richard (dzander100). After I wrote the poem it somehow reminded me of Galadriel form the Lord of the Rings so the poem is in a way about her also. I hope you enjoy!

  • Wow, I'm not normally a person that enjoys poetry, but this one I like. And I'm surprised that it wasn't meant to be about Galadriel in its original intent - it fits her perfectly.

  • @EarendilTheBright

Well that is exactly what I thought when I made the video. First I wrote the poem, and words just started to flow from my mind and afterwards when I recorded it I began thinking what images should I put in the video. After re-reading the poem several times I came to the conclusion that images of Galadriel would be absolutely perfect. Thank you for your great comment. It is always a pleasure to make someone like poetry if they didn't do so before.

  • wow

  • @Schnitterkind Thank you. I'm glad you like it.

  • I think I am going to translate this in elvish

  • @WatchmenDrManhattan I would love to hear this poem in elvish. Please go ahead and send me a video if you do, that would be great. Thank you.

  • "The autumn grows more colder." Does it? Does it really? Lol. It needs a little work, and then it'll be really cool.

  • @Sosei345 Thank you. I am very pleased you enjoyed it.

  • This is amazing. Such a mature, strong-worded poem. It does remind me of Lord of the Rings, or even dark movies like Pan's Labyrinth. This is excellent, your quite talented. I feel like watching the movies all over again. XD

  • @awakenedlink37

Well if you had any brains at all you'd know that rage and despair are two different things.
