It is not the "Russian State Academic Symphony"(Svetlanov) It's the "New Russia" Symphony.
Sergey Girshenko is currently concertmaster of the Russian State Symphony(Svetlanov).He was a first violin of the "Bolshoi" opera for over 20 years,concertmaster of the St.Petersburg Philarmonic(Temerkanov).
Check out his last recording,("Dima quartet". They play quartets by Spohr)

The concermaster of this orchestra is the phenomenal violinist Sergey Girshenko. Every soloist (also the "super stars" like Vengerov, Kremer and "compagnia bella") needs a big courage to play in front of him...because they know him very well!

I think the violinist is being a little too violent lol. Persoanlly, my fav is Kremer, he's really mello. The Cellist is exceptional though :D
