Speaking at the World Future Societys 2008 annual meeting, Enrique Peña Nieto, the governor of the State of Mexico, described the social, economic, and political trends driving the growth of the worlds emerging economies. Mexico, China, India, Russia, and other developing economies must transform some of their local institutions and consolidate others in order to build stronger foundations on which to grow, said Nieto.
