This is a video to explain the HTC EVO 4G's battery life and show what may or may not affect the battery life.....post 6/28 update.

This is also a video response to Chris Pirillo's video where he showed that the EVO had terrible battery life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrRSGaxrPzo&annotation_id=annotation_27575..., also a response to his previous first impression of the EVO video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TC-Fm6Ztwrc. I am not bashing on Chris on this video but i do think everyone bashed on him because of the attitude and the snarkey comments that he said on the video, and if your going to do that when you just started to use a device then maybe you deserve some of the negative comments.

FYI, This is post 6/28 OTA update.

  • Root that shit and uninstall all the bloat crap..either that or its useless

  • @Elpinchedanny1 i am already rooted but still have the stock rom, can you provide a guide or more info on how to remove the "bloat crap"?

  • @OCDTech Make. Back up rom first just so you have a method of recovery, Now go to the market get titanium backup and either delete or freeze apps..I got rid of like 53 stock apps. I also recommend Setcpu and under clock your CPU when screens off, I use to charge my phone 3 times a day now I'm still at 30% by the end of the night with one full charge in the morning.Hope this helps..don't be afraid to pay with it just make sure you have a recovery.

  • @Elpinchedanny1 on setcpu is it safe to put it to min/max 245 mhz when screen is off?

  • Hey, I just got an Evo and I'm learning about the whole android thing... what battery widget do you have? What apps do you recommend? Is advanced task killer good? I mostly hear good things about it, but I have also heard you don't need or it can mess up the phone... please help... Thanks :)

  • @Vmertilus the battery icon that you see in the top left is called "battery indicator pro", i used to use advanced task killer but since the EVO got the 2.2 (froyo) update then it no longer allows killing of apps via an app killer app like ATK so for now i use it but only once in a while and i dont leave it running all the time. i have a bunch of apps installed, some are essential and some are just for fun and stupitidy, i will direct message you the link since i cannot post here
