Steve, I have a lot of weeds in my garden and I was told to come to McShane's Nursery to get some Ground cover.

Well I can help, I'll tell you, just like this bark we're standing on here, this is a small nugget cedar and boy does it do the trick. Really, really good stuff. It will keep roots cool, it will keep those weeds down and boy will it save you work in the Garden.

Well is this the only [Ground Cover] option I have?

Well there's plenty - certainly when it comes to wood products we have shredded cedar, we've also got larger nuggets and small nuggets. We deliver and it's available in big bags, small bags and heck, if you need it, we'll load it for you too.

Well I have a friend that has some rocks in her garden, do you have any of those?

Let's take a look at some other options... This is called Cal Gold [California Gold], It's actually a local product. It's brought in and crushed to different specifications. A nice golden brown color that's going to do a great job, just like the bark to keep roots cool and keep roots under control.

Do you have any lighter colored pebbles?

Oh, sure! and I'll even show you a couple, there's even grays, there's tans, chalk colors. There's a secret though, when you apply this to a depth of two or three inches, I always tell people, put down weed fabric.

What does weed fabric look like?

Let me show you! This is weed barrier and I'll tell you, this stuff is fantastic. Much higher grade than the stuff you'd find at the box stores. Commercial strength, thirty years this will protect your ground cover from weeds from popping up.

Can I plant my plants on it?

What I recommend to people is to actually cut an X in there and plant through it. It'll hold up, you can pin it down. There are little staples that you can actually buy with this to put it into place. Check our prices because this is going to be a lot cheaper when you buy it in bulk.
