Apart from winning 2 World Championships, Alex "Hurricane" Higgins also won the World Doubles Snooker Championships in 1984 with Jimmy White against Cliff Thorburn and the incapable Willie Thorne. On the road to the finals, the golden pair beat Tony Meo and the unbeatable Steve Davis.
