It is for some reason yes! I copied the audio straight from my Polydor CD as a WAV and encoded it as a WMA Lossless, and yet it still distorts.

@mozpiano2 Not distorted---it was recorded this way on purpose to create the haunting, ghostly sound. Get the CD and play it, you'll see.

@technocrash09 I did a direct comparison between this and the 1982 Polydor CD version and the distortion on the Polydor edition is simply not there. It may be on the 2005 remaster due to the the compression and limiting added during remastering (I haven't listened to the 2005 version lately so I don't know for sure)

my door just swung open on its own tho it is windy outside. And I tried to imagine a ghost and then an angel walking into my room. Then my thoughts drifted to this song sung by Annirid. Her beautiul low tones touch my soul and "I wonder" did Annifrid sing this one? I adore Abba and Abba has helped me through sad and bad times and happier times. Best wishes to you mozpiano2

@songsungu ...I agree...I loved ABBA so much (still do)..but always loved awaiting their next album...when Frida sings the words...."prolonged goodbye" in this song...(the last song on the last album)it brings tears to my eyes.

@technocrash09 You most certainly did not hear the original vinyl record, did you ? * As a sound technician, I *obviously* agree with "TomtenT". * This VERY delicate audio mix - among studio professionals a very highly regarded work by the legendary Michael B. Tretow - is sadly distorted on this upload. No shadow over "mozpiano2" though - there are some compression artifacts at fault here. Too bad really, this prodiction is originally a GEM in audio quality ! ! !
