"Homicide" was the first pre-recorded hour long Australian TV drama. Made in Melbourne by Crawford Productions, it ran for 12 years and 510 episodes. During its time it constantly out-rated every other American and British series that went up against it. Launching the Australian TV (and film) industry, it commenced a continuous run of Australian production which has remained unbroken to the present day.
