Premier League club Arsenal had been tracking Nasri and moved quickly to head off rival bids from Real Madrid and Inter Milan and a bid of £12.5 million was enough to convince Marseille about his transfer with him signing a four-year contract. Nasri scored in his Premier League debut against West Bromwich Albion with a close range effort, after four minutes of the first game of the season, on 16 August 2008.[9] On 27 August in the 3rd Qualifying Round 2nd Leg against FC Twente, Nasri scored in the 26th minute.[10] He scored his third goal of the season in the 3--1 over Everton on October 18, 2008. On 8 November 2008, Nasri scored both of Arsenal's goals in a 2--1 win over Manchester United.[11] On 17 January 2009 he scored the 2nd goal in Arsenal's 3--1 win over Hull City at the KC Stadium. On 21 March, he made the scoresheet again as Arsenal defeated Newcastle 3--1 at St. James' Park.[12] He concluded his debut season with Arsenal with 7 goals and 5 assists.

Nasri missed the early part of the 2009--10 season with a broken leg that was picked up in the summer. On 9 March 2010 Nasri culminated an excellent display in Arsenal's 5--0 victory over Porto in the Champions League with a superb individual effort, dribbling past the Porto defence before driving it across the goalkeeper, sending the ball in off the far post. On 3 May 2010, he played the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.[13][14] Nasri concluded his second season at Arsenal with 34 games, 5 goals, and 5 assists.

Nasri started the 2010--11 season fairly well. He was named in Arsenal's starting line-up against Liverpool for the first match of the season on 15 August where he played the full 90 minutes. Arsenal confirmed after the draw that Nasri had suffered a knee injury that would keep him out for one month, but the play-maker made a speedy recovery after just three games to be named as a starter for the Champions League opener against Sporting Braga. He helped Arsenal defeat the Portuguese side 6--0. Nasri then scored his first and second goals of the season from penalties during extra time in Arsenal's Carling Cup win against main rivals Tottenham at White Hart Lane. On 25 September 2010, Nasri scored a brace in Arsenal's disastrous 3--2 home defeat by the hands of West Brom, this was his fourth goal in two games. Nasri continued his fine form coming on as a substitute in Arsenal's midweek Champions League 3--1 away win against FK Partizan and he made his first assist of the season to his French compatriot Sébastien Squillaci from a corner late in the second half; this was also Squillaci's first goal for his new club. On 16 October 2010, he equalised from the penalty spot before Marouane Chamakh grabbed the winner in a 2--1 victory over Birmingham City. Nasri then scored a fine left-footed volley in a midweek Champions League versus Shakhtar Donetsk and created Arsenal's fifth goal. On the 24 October Nasri scored the first and set up the third in a 3--0 victory over Manchester City. He was on the score sheet again, scoring the opener in a 3--2 defeat to London rivals Tottenham. On 27 November, Nasri hammered home a volley against Aston Villa to give Arsenal a 2--0 lead, Arsenal went on to win the game 4--2. On 4 December, Nasri scored two outstanding goals against Fulham FC to give Arsenal a 2-1 win and top spot in the Premier League. The latter marking his 8th goal in the Premier League, his 11th of the season. With this goal, he falls just one goal short of his combined goal tally for Arsenal during the course of his first two seasons with the club(12 goals in total). Nasri also scored in Arsenal's vital last group game in the UEFA Champions League group stage against Partizan Belgrade which Arsenal won 3-1. He scored his 13th goal of the season in the 3--0 win against Birmingham City on New Year's Day 2011. He then went on to score the first goal in a 3rd round cup tie against Leeds United in which Arsenal went on to win. He returned to the squad after a hamstring injury against FC Barcelona in a Champions League to and provided a vital assist to team mate Andrei Arshavin, Arsenal went on to win 2-1

On 13 December 2010, for his performances during the 2010 calendar year, Nasri was named the France Football French Player of the Year beating out Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda and Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. He is the first Arsenal player to achieve the honour since Thierry Henry in 2006. In all competitions for Arsenal, Nasri has made 108 appearances and has scored 26 goals in total.[4].
