Here's a couple of Microblue ceramic bearings being spun to show lack of friction. They're going to be used in a set of BST carbon wheels on a Yamaha R1 motorcycle.

  • Still very skeptical about microblue. I mean, you can do this with a bearing with no lube. In fact without lube it will spin longer.

  • @TheOfficialKC

Well I've got to disagree there. For a start conventional ball bearings are very rarely as round as a ceramic/hybrid bearing and if you're thinking of running a conventional without lube or dust shields, good luck when after a short while it disintegrates due to heat buildup. Kind of a crazy statement when you think about it...

  • It's greased goose shit. Take it from the narrator.

  • It sounds like the duck doesn't believe it.

  • @marcaztls The product may very well work, but this doesn't show it. I would like to see an independent test of it. I saw Project Two 50 is using it and running 100:1 premix. I am interested in it. I run 60:1 in my 380SX and still have oil splatter and wouldn't mind running 120:1. Less splatter. And I could carry the same amount of oil and fill up at gas stations with twice as much gas as I am on long rides.

I have faith in the product, just the video is useless.

  • @marcaztls My dad used to do it when he was a kid. They would spin bearings while holding them like in the video and they would spin forever just like this. Under load will be different. If you can show the bearings being spun under a load for a long time with no wear, well less wear then normal oil, that would make an impact. A non lubed bearing will disintegrate under load. But this video isn't showing that. All I am saying is you could do what you are doing in this video without lube.

  • VSSSS sound means its dry, and/or worn out.

    Pretty low roll friction though.

  • shoot dat damn bird !!!!

  • Cool. I was just talking with Dave over at worldbearings. He was telling me about MicroBlue
