It is an out of control disease in America. 750,000 deaths a year, and 30% of the adult population on blood pressure medication. Sad thing is 100 years ago it was a relatively rare condition.

Left Sided Congestive heart failure leads to Pulmonary Edema b/c of blood backing up from left side of the heart into the lungs increasing the pressure in the lungs. Pulmonary Edema will then lead to backing up of the blood into the RIGHT side of heart, causing Congestive heart failure of the right side or "Cor pulmonale" .
Left sided CHF --> Pulmonary Edema --> Right sided CHF --> Edema Everywhere else in the body
