The beauty of the bible is this: for every verse quoted, you can find another one that says the very opposite or at least can be interpreted as such.

Afrikitty, please tell me which one is right and which is wrong, then explain your answer because ONE is true and ONE false:
"Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil." (Isaiah 9:3, King James Bible).
"You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as men rejoice when dividing the plunder." (Isaiah 9:3, NIV).

Amen brother, and God bless thee.

Your vitriol and intolerance just shines through! This was a totally uncalled for attack on what I was put through as a child.
I will not be back to your site.

Nobody is going to give you credance unless you are willing to investigate and learn the truth. If you believed that 2+2=5 and others were telling you it's not and provided the evidence that rpoves it but you refuse it, you will spend the rest of your life believing 2+2=5, and that is fine if that's what you want. But unless you are willing to hear evidences, you have no right nor place arguing your case.

"I was raised with this Bible in Catholic convents, but we were not allowed to read it."
What's that tell you about the church you went to?
I am not going to discuss it with you further. If you refuse to watch the videso series i sent you a link to then you are willingly ignorant, emotionally convicted to false gospel, and that is a sign of cultism.
When people refuse information fervently, they are brainwashed.

"Why were they advocating this Bible and saying other versions are perversions?"
And still you refuse to watch the video series I gave you a link to so that you will have your answrer! My friend, as I stated, you are willingly ignorant. Nobody is going to hold your hand and write a mile long these for you personally.
"While I do have A KJV that ... that Bible became a stumbling block to me as I desperately tried to read it."
It's a stumbling block? Wow.

if you are agnostic then you are waiting for proof of God. may i suggest that you pray to the God of the bible, tell him that you currently do not believe but if he is real, you invite hi into your life to show himself to you.
he always hears the prayers of the lost, he heard mine!!!!
