Yes, this is my fishtank and a review of it's inhabitants.

Vampire shrimp (large brown shrimp at the very beginning): Many a visitor comes into my house, sees the shrimp and hears it's name and asks "Does it suck blood?!"
Contrary to the name, this shrimp is very docile and is actually a filter-feeder. It uses web-like appendages on its for legs and waves them in the water, colecting macroinvertabrates and bits of food. They are extremely rare.
My experience with vampire shrimp: As you might know, or might not, vampire shrimp are the most expensive freshwater shrimp. Ever. They cost 20 dollars per 3 inch shrimp, and grow to 5 inches.
I do not recommend getting this shrimp. They are extremely hard, easy to take care of (in populated tanks you don't need to feed them), but they don't enjoy time in the sun, and will dig and bury themselves in the substrate and decorations. They only come out at night. Keep them in groups (It's expensive, I know.) If you are keeping them by themselves, put them in 1 gallon of water and occationally sprinkle finely ground fish food in.

Harliquin rasboras: Considered one of the most easy, and peacful fish to take care of, this fish comes from the land of the tiger barb, and kuhli loach.
A small brightly colored fish which likes the tempertature 72 to 82 degrees farinheit, they should be kept in shoals of 5 or more. A shoal like that should be kept in a 20 gallon tank.
My experience with this fish: One word sums up this fish. Peaceful. I have never seen this fish attack any other thing in my aquarium. They will play fight with each other, but never do any damage. Feed them fish flakes 2 times a day and sumplement with freeze dried bloodworms once a week. Do not put with agressive fish!
Oh by the way, they jump when stressed. Keep that hood on tight!

I'll add more info soon.

  • tacky plastic crap ... sorry i hate that stuff, animals dont live with it in the wild so why add it to a tank !!!!!!! it really spoils the look ughhhh

  • Yeah, plus i got two more kuhli loaches to keep the big guy company :)

  • Oh, good to hear. They'll definitely benefit from that.

  • Thanks! do note that all of these critters were moved into my 75 gallon. They're loving the space!

  • Overall, nice tank.

  • I love the Vampire shrimp. Wish I had one, still looking for one. Although I usually hate the "fake sunken castle" aquarium look, it works really well with that shrimp.

-I've got Kuhlis, too. I suggest you keep at least 4, though, and they'll actually actively seek food along the gravel.

-Same with the ghost catifsh. Keep note they'll get like, 4-6 inches long, though - you have a big tank, but maybe not THAT big of a tank.

-Make sure that pleco won't outgrow your tank.

    -I want that amano shrimp
