HUNGER GAMES: KATNISS & RUE

I am a big fan of the Hunger Games books and am excited for the film from Lionsgate. This was done in hopes that the actors would get a chance to audition for the film. Danielle Chuchran was able to audition for Gary Ross. Congratulations to Jennifer Lawrence and Amandla Stenberg on landing the roles.

I know that Rue is described as being dark skinned in the book, but I wanted to show Savanna's acting. I think she would make a good Prim though.

The song at the beginning is Wretches and Kings by Linkin Park.

The song at the end is Iridescent by Linkin Park.

I didn't put the sound of the cannon when Rue died because I cut out all background sounds and sound effects at that point and was just playing music only.

I think Suzanne Collins would say whatever that will bring more money to the franquise but I think she never imagined District 11 people as black, just dark skinned, the oppressed african americans are a Hollywood cliche. I thought Rue was latina or Asian.

well I think the narrative is better with the opening scene and the song doesn't ruin anything, . It's the director vision and it works better than in the feature film. I will always prefer !0000 times Danielle and Savanah under Mainstay pro direction with I imagin 0 budget, than Jennifer and Amandla. with Gary Ross and their big budget.

If you watch the movie again, you see that they in district 11 are not all black. Seems to be just the half of them. Its just, hollywood always have to add other races in movies so it don´t looks racist. Just look at Heimdall in Thor, he is also black, wich is very amusing for me, because im from Iceland and know my old gods very well. But this is just the Hollywood world.

p.s. I am not a racist ;)
