Coastal Carolina Chicken Dance

Have you ever wanted to go down in history? Well now is your chance!

Kick off the 2007 Homecoming Week by participating in the breaking of the Guinness World Record for the largest contra line dance.

Don't know how to contra line dance? That's ok because we're twisting up the record Coastal style by doing the "Chauncey Shuffle," also known as the chicken dance! We will be dancing for 6 minutes with an estimated 1,000 students, faculty and community members.

The previous record was set by Waid Academy in Scotland in March 2003. They had 875 people dancing the "Waid Waggle" for 5 minutes to "Achy Breaky Heart".

Clear your calendars on MONDAY, OCTOBER 22 from 2-4:30 pm, because that's when the record breaking action is going down! The event will be held on the PRINCE LAWN.
