Yes, I am a dentist. This is my patient and I did the work. I have been practicing for thirty years in the same location. I teach other dentists for the past 12 years in Chicago and in Scottsdale Az for the last four.

The tooth will act as a base for a crown which can last 7 to 40 years. If the person lost his first molar, the replacement is usually more expensive (unless the have a removable partial or leave the space empty). If the space is left empty, the other teeth will have the tendency to drift. People do about 80% of their chewing on the 1st molar and 2nd premolar. If the tooth is gone the person really notices it in their chewing.
