  • Blame the ignorant parents

  • Regardless whether the author of this video used pretty color or stark black and white photos, the issue is poverty. anyname's ludicrous statement "…poor by choice…" shows more of a "America hater" mentality and simple ignorance than what he directs back at the slide presentation. My suggestion is to turn off Fox and go down to a soup kitchen and talk to young families who "choose" to be poor before you spout "poor is relative."

  • So one has to ask themselves where the author got his photos.

NO ONE USES BLACK AND WHITE photos anymore. These are shots taken from the depression era.

that makes this guy just another AMERICA hater.

post some photos like this that are in color and we will give you some credit

In the second set of photos the writting is not in english

    fake fake fake fake

  • why are you showing pictures from the early 90's most countries didn't look any better at that time

  • If there was FREEDOM FROM WANT there would be no incentive to work & no domestic product & the economy would come to a halt & all of a sudden everybody would be in poverty. The US government slashes off the bottom 14% no matter what the income level & calls them impoverished. Poor is relative. If someone else has something you dont then they are rich. In America people are (for the most part) only poor by choice. U choose not to go to school, U choose not to work hard, U choose to take drugs

  • the only thing i can say is "sad"

  • Something I learned is the government fudges the numbers. If you are living just under the poverty level and get a cost of living adjustment (to keep up with inflation) it doesn't raise you above the poverty level (even at 99%-it only helps deal with inflation and keeps you at 99%). But the government can and does write people off because they do not raise poverty level by the same amount as the cost of living each year. They need to tie the 2 together.

  • The use of light and shadow in some of these photos is amazing. I work with the impoverished in Kentucky and have a video with similar photos that were taken within the past few years. Poverty is very real in the US. Children should not suffer in such a wealthy country as ours.

  • The leaders of the United States need to focus more on poverty in America than they do on war n Iraq.
