@creapdemon for acer user..1stly u need to change ur bios setup by pressing f2 on start up. change the sata mode to ide mode. then u can go throgh the normal setup.

thats wierd i own an Emachines and they r built by Acer and i have a SATA drive and XP always picks it up, you need some SATA drivers which normally need to be put on a floppy which sucks, or u could chance ur luck and use NLite

so if you know any other way to do this please lat us know
thank you...

you need to 1st delete the C: partition or where ever you windows is installed to (be sure to back your personal files up) then continue with xp install and it will then ask you to create partition and format (choose quick format ntfs) now your xp will install. but if your pc/laptop is quite new then it is likely to require new drivers downloaded from microsoft website or other sources if you have a bent copy of xp :P

you can install windows xp by set the hadrive in the bios to ide mode that is for windows xp and that workedt on my laptop for vista
i accidentally put vista on both of my drives...is that going to be a problem?? i did what you did in the video but when i boot the CD-ROM drive it says it cant find the disk or whatever..its not the disc cuz i tested it out on my desktop...does me having vista on bith the C: and D: drive have anything to do with me not being able to load the disc from the boot menu?

If you format the drive using the boot disc you will be able to put xp on that formatted drive.

I have had the same problems. But then I fixed it with GREAT EASE~ the problem is, is that the windows xp disc only has the drivers for an IDE hard drive not a SATA. So you would need to inject your hard drivers SATA drivers into the windows xp cd using NLITE software. You can usually find your drivers from the intel website if you have an intel MOBO. If AMD I do not know how to help ya.

why would you do all of that when you can just format the drive and put xp on it??

i have this same problem, im trying to go from vista to a modded version of xp called xp royal
but i get this when i put it in, how did u fix it?

I fixed the problem. All you need to do is format the C: drive then you can put xp on the C: driver. That easy.
