Thinking about doing a mod like this.. Any problems with heat increase from no backpressure, and running too lean?
-
Wow, what a slap in the face. Screw Harley's. How about Harley's try to sound like VTX's?
-
what do you mean by removing the "pair" system, i'm having the same cracking noise
-

Sounds great bro! Awesome video too, lots of good footage. I've got HK3's on my 13R and they sound a lot like yours.

I looked at the HKs, but these were really inexpensive. I still want to hear some Bubs on a 1300.

Very nice sound! Would you mind posting another video on the actual mod. Maybe some shots of the inside of the exhaust so we can see how it looks. I'm about to be picking up my VTX 1300 and I would love to do this mod. I've read a lot of people doing the Clayton mod are experiencing a "popping" when slowing down or down shifting. Are you having this issue with this particular mod?

Sorry, no video on the mod, but it's pretty straight forward. Remove the baffle, cut the weld to remove it from the baffle pipe, weld on a piece of straight exhaust pipe and reassemble. I never had any popping on decel, but I had some "cracking" sounds on light throttle. Removing the Pair system made the whole thing sound MUCH better and removed all the weird sounds. Everyone comments on how great these sound. Well worth the $100 I paid for them.

Great pipes. What was the total cost of the mod? Are the pipes still legal after removing the stock baffles? Great sound...sounds like a Harley!

Total cost was $3 excluding the time it took to do the work. The previous owner did the mod and explained to me what was done. Very simple really. I don't know if these are legal at this point, but it did pass inspection.
