wow that turned out awesome. i really miss throwing but cant afford a wheel right now... i have a place to fire what i'd make just dont have a wheel. you have any ideas where i can get a used somewhat cheap throwing wheel?

I'd like to see how you prepaired you're clay. Everytime i have done a swirl piece i just have a bunch of random lines due to wedging it. Yours is really nice and even clear thru you're cylinder

I'd be more then willing to show how I prepare the clay for a swirl pot. I'm thinking your problem may be the wedging part. I dont wedge them together at all. only the white body gets wedged. I'd be happy to do a video on how I do it if you'd like. and thanks for the comment !

hey thanks for the compliment. If I recall exactly: the brown clay was cassius cone 5 body and the stoneware was a white 10% grog cone 5 clay body. only thing I found is that they need to be slow dryed.. throw a piece- let air dry- trim a foot and then cover back up a week to ten depending on humidity levels etc.. thanks agin !!

The clays have to have such similar properties for this method to work. Did you "just" add some coloring agent to the light clay to make the dark part, or did you use 2 different clays?
