Well then the problem is that this video simply wasn't created for that. It is supposed to be a conclusion, aimed towards those who already support open media formats (since my blog and YT viewership are mostly free software people). The video lacks substance and content, i know, but it's not supposed to be a discussion on why. Perhaps i'll make another video for that

Support for Theora is growing. The experimental versions (which have numerous bug fixes) are nearly consistent or better quality than current YouTube encodings. Mozilla did a test comparing the 2.
But its not just FF that supports open video... its every browser BUT IE8 (you need a plugin <- irony).
iPhone can't run flash... this is a format thats GREAT for everyone... it's just going to get better with time because the encoder is open source too.
It would also save YouTube alot of cash.
