Not having faith is easy, lazy even. Faith, even a tiny as a mustard seed, takes courage to begin. God says, "Come now, let us reason together..." Isaiah 1:18 God wants us to think, in fact, He holds it up very highly.

@polopowers1 "I don't know what you mean by parent?" (sic)
The one word is too deep for you?
Yes, fear is the perfect way to brainwash the young minds. Remove the imposed fear, and you will have that faith slowly fading away.
I noticed you ran away, afraid of something here??

@lion575 Having a trust in a math formula is not faith in the formula. As you said, you could 'proof' the formula, or not. Faith will let you claim the formula is valid without trying it with real numbers and values.

@SlackerSlayer Yes one does have faith in Sciences. As an Electrical Engineer, I had complete faith in Einstein's Theory of relativity (E=mC^2). However supposedly that was recently disproven. I started off as a Math major, and in every physics class actually went through the mathematical proofs (really helped with complex problems in labs etc ...), and I actually completely followed the mathematical proof behind the formula in Einstein's theory. Even with a proof, as it turns out it was wrong.

@polopowers1 Too deep to get a simple concept from one word?? Parent.
-
@SlackerSlayer I don't know what you mean by parent.? Influenced by parents is my point all words that a child gets even by force they believe by faith in obedience or disobedience Even when influenced by power faith by words is formed inside a person. Compliance is not faith what you believe about compliance is..All faith is from experience , words, books, learned and calculated by the human brain. All people act from this assimilation.
-
@polopowers1 You would have a point to what you've said IF [big if] the child never is influenced in any direction, even by the parent. You know this is not the case. Your first line, could you repair it?

@Dado75 "evident in the amount of evil in the world today."
And a roughly what percentage of these evil doers are religious? Far more than 50%. I have a feeling you think the events in Iraq and Afghanistan are just. A misguided religious view is all I can think of why smart people would follow liars there.

@MomoTheBellyDancer "Jesus himself says that people will burn in hell simply for not following him. He"
And they boldly proclaim he never sinned. But by telling others to violate one of their top ten commandments,,, he must be a coconspirator to sins. Wasn't "the sin-full one" cast out of his fathers house?
-
@MeTolerateYou One does not "have faith" in sciences. You are using the word in a terrible wrong manner.
@MomoTheBellyDancer No hateful comments please, Thanks.
