Okay, let me just say to start, this game is buggy as hell.

Now that that's out of the way, it took quite a while to make a complete video for this. I kept going back and forth at first between trying to make a run for Ryougi or Nanaya (regardless of the fact that I already did those for the old PS2 version 2 years ago), but I couldn't get all the way through without crashing. So, out of frustration, on a bt of a whim I tried Archetype:Earth (one of only 2 new characters to this version [yes, I know she was technically in the PS2 version, but this one is basically a completely new character and not that obvious pre-beta crap version from before], although 2 more had arcade modes added for them). It would seem the game is telling me that I should be making a video feature for the fake Type-Earth after all, and I'm not allowed to waste time on anything else. Now, this is the first time I'd ever played as her (and probably the last). I probably should've at least tried her out in practice mode first, but hey...

Anyway, shit is she ever a floaty character. I've played floaty characters in fighting games before, but she takes it to a whole other level. This level is just excessive. It makes it pretty hard to use aerial attacks effectively. Combine that with the really finicky, buggy controls and the fact that I have zero experience using her and we have a recipe for disaster.

I thought sure Ryougi would be her final boss... and after laughing my ass off during the Kohaku cutscene (if it'd been me in A-E's place rather than being offended I'd have laughed myself to the point of suffocation so they'd win by default), I just had my head tilted in a constant WTF expression during the whole final segment (also, despite her being in every single past game I am almost as inexperienced with Arc as I am with A-E [also, damn those were some long cutscenes]). Okay, so, they took the final boss of the entire Nasuverse and made her feature in a story this irrelevant... oh well. I guess I can go beat Ryougi's story again later for my requisite dose of epic.

Post-Upload Edit: Alright, I barely managed to get this uploaded. As soon as it finished uploading (it hadn't processed yet, just uploaded), the hard drive I uploaded it from died (and, as such, I lost approximately 425 GB of data, around 150 of which was unique and cannot be truly reproduced). Now what kind of luck is that? Well, mine. I've said before that my Luck stat is at the lowest rank possible, but I doubt anyone who doesn't know me offline will ever really fully believe me. I suppose I should consider myself slightly lucky that at least this upload finished first.
By the way, I should probably mention that that drive contained my local copies of all my YouTube videos (which was actually a pretty small percentage of everything), so if anything happens to this channel it'd be pretty hard to reupload things.

  • Good thing mirror moon will translate this they already announced the project i've seen quite a few fan made patches that have the menu in english too.

  • @Hibiki7soul Now if only mirror moon were a fast group. Personally, if I were getting paid salary, and therefore having enough incentive to actually put that much effort in (I don't have the drive to do that much work just for the fun of it like those other guys), I could by myself make a full translation patch for this game within two weeks to a month easily. And I'm pretty dang slow compared to the average translator who actually does this kind of thing on a regular basis.

  • @XerBlade Well they are still better than Valve.

  • @Hibiki7soul Who are better than Blizzard.

  • It's also worth noting that at the ending Archetype refers to Crimson Moon as her father. She also tells Ciel that it is not an admirable trait to be prying into a woman's secrets. So Arcueid's other side is not the original Crimson Moon.

  • @theleechqueen Of course it isn't the "original" Crimson Moon. The original Crimson Moon is dead.

  • @Hibiki7soul A-E when around fighting people, several of them tried to guess who she REALLY was and failed (lol King Neco Arc), Powerd Ciel finally got it right, but still loses. She starts to do her entire purpose in life, which is the destruction of Earth (it's how the world is supposed to end someday in the Nasuverse), then Arc somehow shows up and we start to realize just how weird this is getting. Then we find out it was all just a dream.

  • Did Kohaku called Crimson moon the legendary king neco arc? >_>

It might take for ever to master those air combos... I think archetype is better as a spammer...

Anyways exactly what happenned in this story? Crimson moon goes everywhere and beats everyone then decides to destroy the world out of boring and Ciel tries to stop her but fails then Arcueid personality takes over again and everything goes back to normal is that it? well it could have been more epic than this...

  • @XerBlade

    Well, he's "dead."

  • @XerBlade He died, but left behind a RM that spawns seeds in which he could imbed itself. At any rate, some people tend to assume Princess Arc has the original Crimson Moon's consciousness, but this confirms that's not true.

  • @MDKGunner She is actually Gaia that lives within Arc's subconscious (the inner sea of the planet), so AE and Gaia are the same. She is having fun since she obtained the fleeting point of view that you can get only if you're a living thing. Arc is talking about AE being excited by her first time doing sight-seeing. BTW, when Ciel thinks that Arc had awakened her origin, AE denies it by declaring that they are one and the same and that she simply has a long waking period.
