By embracing the principle of Play, we can in the short term prevent the system from doing what it does to the spirit and creativity of teachers and children, and at the same time lay the foundation for a new culture based on play. That may sound naive, but think about it: Play is a way of learning that embodies kids' minds and imaginations. Play is their birthright, a science, and a gift of life that cannot be stopped.
