Chapter 1
Calistas Pov
It was middle of March and it had been raining for 6 days straight. Which meant six days of being stuck inside of this mansion. Six days of never going outside, and six days of never seeing the sun. Finally six days of seeing the sky pour down its tears, like I pour down mine. Let me explain.
I am the daughter of Jack and Hailey Loftin. My father is one of the most prominent political figures in London, or maybe even all of England. And mother was the a heiress. And we thought that her father (aka my grandpa) was rich. But when he died we found out that he had enormous debt that we couldnt pay. Which brings me back to the tears part. In order to save my familys wealth my parents are making me date and fall in love with this guy named Ryan. Ryans father is the richest man in Europe, or probably even the Eastern Hemisphere. Hes a total jerk, and only cares about me because Im beautiful. The worst part is I dont have any say in my love life. No say, what so ever!
Someone knocks on her door.
Calista: Come in.
Then I saw my mother looking furious walk into my room.
Hailey: What on earth have you been doing? We have to go to that party for tonight! We have to leave in 45 minutes! Why arent you getting ready?
Calista: Sorry.
Hailey: Dont just stand there. Get ready! And wear a dress that shows off your legs. Ryan will like that!
Calista: Fine!
Hailey: And you better loose that attitude quick! Ryans going to be there tonight! And we cant have you acting like a brat now, can we?
Calista: Of course we cant!
Hailey: Im serious. Dont get lippy with me and hurry! (leaves the room)
AHHHH! Sometimes I just want to scream. Ryan this, Ryan that. Why does her world have to revolve around Ryan? So I went though my closet and found an outfit.
Than I did my makeup and curled my hair into big loose waves. Finally I slipped into the blue jacket and headed downstairs. My father and my sister were waiting and sitting on the couch. Jack: Both of you girls look lovely.
Melanie: Thanks Daddy.
Calista: Yeah, thanks.
Five seconds later my mother came running down the stairs and we headed out the door and into the car. Luckily the party would have valet and so we wouldnt haveto walk to and from the car in the rain..
Melanie: So Daddy, whats this party for?
Jack: Ryan and his family are hosting a get together to celebrate his father Coles birthday.
Melanie: Cool.
Than we drove for half an hour and arrived at Ryans house. Than gave the keys to the valet workers and we walked into his house. They had a whole orchestra playing and his home was lit up. Everywhere you saw important and famous people drinking champagne and laughing and dancing. And then came the moment I dreaded.
Hailey: Look, Ryans over there. Go talk to him.
Calista: But Mom!
Hailey: Now Calista.
Then I took a deep breath and with heavy and reluctant steps, I trudged towards Ryan.
