Iraq war vet Ethan McCord and Elaine Brower, mother of an Iraq vet, discuss the current military codes of conduct and structures of command, and the Bradley Manning case, at the United National Peace Conference in Albany, New York on July 24, 2010.

McCord was a member of Bravo Company 2-16, the ground troops involved in the now-infamous attack seen by millions in the classified video posted to http://wikileaks.org in April, 2010.

Brower is an active member of Military Families Speak Out and serves on the National Steering Committee of World Can't Wait.

  • @JockBhoy67 I do pity the soldier, because he hasn't fought for me since WWII, that was my grandfather, and to him I leave a wreath on his grave every year. None of "our" sons have fought for any of "us" since then, not unless the "us" is Halliburton. Iraq is a war of vengeance, an illegal war and nothing more. Yes I pity the boys in our Armed Service. Anyone who thinks this is a fight "for freedom" is dreaming.

  • Only the americans cannot see that the US govern are in fact the great Terrorist.

  • @marceloarraeste FINALLY someone speaks THE true words. Your 100% right man.

  • @idangle6 Break out of the system :)

  • its not the american people who are to blame its the fucking government people are starting to riot though shit aint right

  • @thefakeyeti Contrary to popular belief, their discord with the West are not just political but theological. I mean their list of grievances is endless and replenishing. As soon as you make some concession they put forth another demand. They are like that five year old brat who doesnt want to do anything for anyone and only wants his way. In their eyes this is an ongoing conflagration that has been going on since the 7th century and the Crusades. We should heed history as much as they do.

  • @44warjunkie

"what do you do eaxactly to end the war on terror? legalize terror?" Get our troops out of the middle east, that will cut down DRASTICALLY on what MOTIVATES them...

From there, we still have basic security, if someone buys a lot of fertilizer but aren't farmers that should be a giant GIANT red flag.. Limits on gun powder etc etc

  • @thefakeyeti to end the war on drugs you legalize drugs, but what do you do exactly to end the war on terror? legalize terror? Unfortunatly this is the only way to go.

  • @JockBhoy67

So, I have no right to criticize our foreign policy, and our role in the world, becausesome of YOUR "buddies" died there..

Reallly... REALLY? COME ON, these wars are unwinnable, and a growing amount of americans are agreeing with that view point.

  • @44warjunkie "innocent civilians have and they will will always die in future wars. Why? Because that is the byproduct ofwar. People are always in the wrong place at the wrong time." Exactly the reason I and others believe the war on terror is unwinnable...

And with other wars we fought there was a government we disliked, and we took out THAT specific GOVERNMENT, how do you beat a organization that knows no country?

  • @Blosblosblos "you could have prevented pearl harbour, you didn't because of your passive style to the war"

We wound up dropping a WMD on them, which I mayactually back if a country attacks US first, which they did..

Do you recommend that we attack china before they attack us? or what if they decided to attack us, would you not blame them because we MAY have attacked them?

  • @thefakeyeti Haha. if you read my text again i said afganistan not iraq taking care of an opponent before he can strike is better than taking care of him afterwards. Just saying what your saying tells me how little you know.

You could have prevented Pearl Harbour you didnt because of your passive style to the war you were raped with your pants down. There are so many examples were global now isolation does not work.
