As for the rebuilding fund... Alhamdulillah! It is coming along slow, but its coming. we are more than 50% finished now. Should be posting an update slide show soon. bi idhnillah.

The true reason a woman covers is ultimately to please Allah, not so men are not tempted cause Muslim men are supposed to cast our eyes down and not approach woman who are not related. I think that should be emphasized more. In North Africa, even a Niqab is not enough to stave off lecherous young horn dogs. Its really embarrassing.

THis would have been a good video but the author missed a crucial point that renders his argument "punchless".The analysis about exposed flesh inciting men and such is moot in the face of the fact that no matter how modest a woman dresses, men still act like shameless dogs in an effort to get their attention. Men have an obligation to look away and not oogle women no matter what a woman wears. The exposure of flesh does not give men license to hit on/stare at a woman, Muslimah or not.

I am a new hijabi and I have no men to "control" me. The only one who controls me is Allah. I started to dress more modestly before I converted and I didn't get as many cat calls or honks or yells from men looking at me as I walked the streets of my city.
