Here is one Ive been asked to do lately by checkraisedbywolves and Anders (or QRS666) and with the passing of Mike Seeger and Sandy Paton this month I thought I would dedicate this one to them both . These men have both given so much to the folk music world we all know .I do love the old saying "Gone but not forgotten." So many thanks to them both for all they have done . I really love the light moving on the floor during this one . Very fitting !!!! I am playing this on a major C tuning gCGCD but working in dorian (sparsely ) . If I ever get a banjo with five long strings and a sixth short string I will play this in dADGAD . I would love to get Mike Ramsey to make me one of those ! All the best to all here . Guy

  • Hello Guy,

Great version of this wonderful old song. Very appropriate for honoring Sandy and Mike. Thank you also for the description of the tuning.

    Well done,

    -Tom

  • Thanks Tom . I love your channel . Nice to meet you . Guy

  • well done,

can you email me with your thoughts on thumb lead playing.

  • Hey Dick . Do you mean thumb lead on finger picking guitar ? The rhythm feels a bit like frailing banjo to me just inside out when using a thumb pick on guitar!! Il l will look at my clips and see if I have something that shows what I mean .. All the best , Guy

  • Deep, dark, texture, just wonderful......nice work on a very original composition.....KD
