Over a thousand years ago, the sun-washed land of southern Spain was was home to Jews, Christians, and Muslims, living together and flourishing. Their culture and beliefs interwined, and the knolwedge of the ancients was gathered and reborn. Here were the very seeds of the Renaissance.

  • great documentary, really loved it

  • @slimshadythe2nd That just shows that the spirit of antichrist is not just in Muslims but many Jews as well. However Jesus shed His blood for both.

  • @apologiamixer so, that just shows that Muslims were more tolerant at the time. Most christians support Israel? mabey most secular westarn governments but almost all arab christians hate Israel. Why wouldnt they? the israelis, thanks to outside aid, kicked the Palestinians out of their homeland. oh ya, and also many of the founders of the PLO are christian

  • @slimshadythe2nd Its not a perfect world. When Jews joined Muslims who have historically made life difficult for Christians it stands to reason Christians are going to see them as another enemy or antichrist. Today it is mostly Christians who are in support of Israel, not Muslims.

  • @apologiamixer at least in Spain and the middle east Jews could become doctors! In Europe they had no rights, and were routinely burned alive everytime there was a plague or natural disaster. There were many Jewish viziers and poets in Spain, but in Europeans restricted them to only what Catholics were not allowed to do, such as banking.

  • @slimshadythe2nd While in Cairo Maimonides wrote of how the Jews were persecuted in Yemen as well. All was not peace and harmony. If he had not been a doctor for the Sultan he would not have been such a valuable dimmi.

  • @apologiamixer that was only after the berber almohads took over, while war broke out. And Maimonides fled to Cairo, another Muslim city, not Europe.

  • Jewish philosopher Moses Maimonides was forced to leave Cordoba in 1148 under threat of conversion or death by Muslims. So much for peace and harmony.

  • @berguss22 - well said and so true
