I wonder what would happen if you woke him from the dead gave him the finest equipment and stuck him in the open championship today. Where would he finish?

I think that you can only compare players of the same era and there is no doubt in my mind he stands head and shoulders above his contemporaries, in the same way Nicklaus and Hagan could be said to have dominated theirs.
With his record he would probably start as favourite if he was could start in the 2012 Open.
Having said that I fancy Watson in the Open to finish as top previous winner.
