Can you build one of these things in 3/4 with a minium of equipment?
I am like alot of people, I want to build a live steamer but don't have thousands of dollars to spend on equipment.

I have a question about reaming, if you were to have that piece on a rotary chuck on a mill table, can you spin the reamer in the mills collet and ream that way? or are reamers ment to be stationary

I'm not sure. Most of what I've gleaned of the machining trade has come out of the older vocational-technical manuals common during the late 19th/early 20th centuries and Kozo Hiraoka's live stem construction manuals. You can find copies at Lindsay Books or Discover Live Steam.
I don't have any recollection of seeing a chucking reamer rotated while the workpiece is stationary, but I'm hardly an expert. All the examples of reaming I've seen have been in lathe work.

That sure seemed quick for a reaming operation...and not coolant either. To each his own.

Cutting oil was applied just before reaming. Got cut in editing. Besides, the bore came out lovely. Just the right kind of fit, too.
