@SpitFire8212 the simplest answer is that it was allowed to happen. There are some games such as Bioshock and Demon's Souls that breathe a little innovation into the mix but games like this are gone and I fear they won't return in this lifetime

@SpitFire8212 yeah youre right.. well of course it is just normal that games evolved in this way but it's sad that noone now is doing "classical" rpg's.. da, that noone is now thinking about them as good idea instead of just "for fun" and "oh thats sentimental".. darn I would want to play new remaked Grandia but in the same rpg way it was done. 0.0

@LordMareus I think why alot of people don't like it is exactly because of the being lost in time ending was chosen by square. But the story is still convoluted where it makes connections that seemed forced just so the two stories went together. I mean just my opinion.

@LordMareus I like Chrono Cross, but Trigger was by far the better game. That being said, I think the pint a lot of people miss when they say the Cross isn't a sequal is that is IS a sequal, but only to the worst ending of Trigger that you can get where Lavos DOESN'T blow up the world.
Hmm, that didn't come out a coherently as I would have liked... still I think I got my point across.

I love that you said you edited this becasue you literally only added the "Credits" at the end. This was literally the opening of the game when you let it idle for a bit.
