ouch! She somehow managed to roll away just in time and the horse only got her leg. It's nice that after the horse bolted for a couple of seconds, he came back. It's always nice to see a loyal horse. And thank god for her inflaty-jacket thing. It would have been so much worse if she had a normal protector. D:

There's a wee wire that clips on to the front of the saddle and when you fall it blows it up the clip releases and it takes a few seconds to inflate
-
Just saying, but I don't actually get how these blow up protectors work. If they inflate on impact, then isn't it too late to cushion the blow of the fall anyway? Could someone explain how they work, please? :)

that was good it was no noes fault these things happen and she didnt go screaming or anything i have seen older people like her scream and hit their horse even when they are hurt bc they think it was the horses fault

@funwithknives00 My superior opinion? You're the one claiming the world No.1 should give up. I'm not denying that at all, I've never said that - you said that because of the nature of the falls she should 'give up', and I'm disagreeing with that statement. Obviously I understand that the nature is important, but I don't feel the nature of the falls means she should 'give up'. That's the crux of my comment. No need to patronise me, I was only expressing a valid point.

well, bridled, I should bow to your superior opinion perhaps.. After 20 years of riding and working in eventing, as well as starting my own and others horses under saddle, I'm pretty happy with my view that the nature of even just one fall is pretty bloody important in jumping. It's a hard-earned perspective. Most of us have learned some valuable lessons from analysing our jump styles (and falls) on video. But - good luck to you and your opinions, all the best.
-
@bridled - I think you've stated some fairly obvious points there? All of us fall off eventing - I've had my share. If you'd bothered to read more closely, I'm expressing an opinion on the nature and cause of her falls, not the falls themselves. And you call me ignorant.. if you don't like reading other people's opinions, don't bother logging onto youtube. How old are you, 14?
-
@bridled I could not agree more, I just didn't have the time to write that paha! thankyou :) x

@funwithknives00 Mary has been at the top of her sport for over 20 years, I think you'd have had a fair few falls over that time if you were the same. Mary completes and wins many 4*s every year yet you choose to pick up on the two or three horse falls that she's had in the past 4 years? When competing at the top horse falls are a given, everyone will have them, everyone makes mistakes. In no way does this mean Mary should 'give up', what an ignorant comment.
how old is she? She looks like a teen.

@CatRoyalAudio because there are similair variations and this video is worldwide, and if it needed to be translated then they know, as in other languages they will call it british broadcasting but in their language :)
