Serious, does someone see something looking like stamping ?
That's just ridiculous.
On the other hand, watch carefully at 11' : Not sure that Rives' arm drills through the maul only to try to catch the ball ;-))) ...

At that time, the british referees often punished french rugby players with extreme severity. We French had the habbit of seeing such unfair decisions probably inspired by a kind of francophobia. A lot of games have been lost in Twickenham and Cardiff for that reason. Happily, things have changed thanks to professionalism. Nowadays, british referees are the best of all and when a French team lose, the players just have to complain after themselves.

Dumb Eglish referee. J P Rives did not stamp he tackled a welsh player then got back and stood at the side of the ruck, whistle went, the rest is invention. Since video referreing France has won more grand slams and been awarded more tries that in the past would have been overruled by the anglosaxon refs... No hard feelings but rugby is a little better today.

Jean-Pierre Rives est, et restera, un monument du rugby !
Merci Wellbran!
That's just bullshit he makes a fantastic tackle, nothing to say about it, and then just stands at the back of the tackle area, no stamping at all who the fuck is that ass ref ?

@sliverthief The Ref did not see it he was on the wrong side BUT the linesman DID see Rives stamping, and rives was not complaining and looked guilty. you have to see the funny side of it.

Rives was magnificent- i was expecting some clips as a tribute to that. Great battles with Wales in the mid-late 70s when they dominated the 5 nations

@mizofan Yes he was a great player tough as they come! but I just put this here for a bit of fun and no more than that. In those days the players had a great respect for each other but that is now diminishing with professionalism...sadly. As the saying goes punch each other and after buy each other a drink in the clubhouse!
