Early experimental effort at providing home tuition in chemistry via YouTube.
Please visit 20to9.com for later efforts using a better video camera.
The short method is used to draw a Hess Cycle and calculate the enthalpy of combustion of propane from ∆Hf values.

Apologies for the poor quality of the video and the very basic form of presentation used. If it's a topic that's causing you difficulties, perhaps it will be of some help. Rgds FS

  • good video crappy cammra

  • life saver!!

  • This seems to be taking theory and testing it with nature. If it works, great, but if not, who cares? I suppose this makes sense chemists would do such things, after all we're dealing with volatile stuff a lot of the time. Trial and error, assumptions, and tests... this is math.

  • So you're using your own method to calculate the Enthalpy of Combustion ? Do we always have to reverse the sign? I dont 100 percent get it :(

  • awesome, thanks a lot!

  • you can also add the reaction of cellulose, hydrogen, to propane if you are venturious.

  • takes forever to explain

  • thanks this helped to clear this up in my mind a lot
