During the International Olympic Committee's Evaluation Commission visit to Chicago in April 2009, there was a red carpet event at which Oprah Winfrey was a featured local guest. She took a few moments to speak with media on her way in, and I love how she compared Chicago to the "Tara" of Atlanta/"Gone With The Wind" Fame. Check out this video and more descriptions by searching for Oprah on the Olympic blog http://olympicringsandotherthings.blogspot.com archives in April 2009.

  • @kunz99 HUH!?.

  • @gsummerford NYC IS BETTER

  • I agree. I think Obongo's arrogance in assuming victory, along with Oprah's stench sealed their failure.

The gang violence caught on the cell phone was just the final nail in their coffin, as far as global perception of Chicago is concerned.

Those that do not act civil should not have civil liberties.

  • Oprah bad looser!! lol

  • maybe if oprah gave all the members of the olympic committee a brand new car, things would have been different! but then again, what socially conscious european would want a large, gas-guzzling american car!!

  • I live here and I loathe this city! If it were not for my job, I would leave.

  • She tried to help the crooks in Chicago. It didn't work this time.
