In November 2011 there was 15.1 million unemployed with 9.8% in November 2012. The total pool of unemployed was (15.1 million/9.8%)=154,081,632
.
The unemployment rate currently is 8.9% with 13.7 million unemployed totaling 153,932,584 in the workforce
.
Between November 2010 & March 2011, 149,048 are no longer in looking for work (154,081,632-153,932,584). This almost cancels the Nonfarm payroll employment increased by 192,000 jobs created in private industry for the month of February

Demcad, you are well spoken and present thoughtful insight. IRT the price of Crude/Gas/Diesel. You have asked rhetorically what price will take down the economy. Let me suggest the answer does not lie here. Rather, ask independent truckers, "at what price of diesel will you park your rig?" Take that number, back into the price of Crude and you have your answer.

as oil goes up unemployment will reduce coz human labour has to replace many tasks.oil driven machines cause some unemployment! but people may not like the new jobs which will be sweaty and tiring.but these jobs cause fat people to becomethinner and healthier?
-
The answer is that there were not 192,000 new jobs. Statistician John Williams estimates the reported gain was overstated by about 230,000 jobs. In other words, about 38,000 jobs were lost in February.

Those unemployment numbers could be wrong.
