Should people be surprised?Bishop D'Arcy & his predecessor have allowed NDU to violate their authority as a successors to the Apostles since Land'OLakes when NDU declared open schism.What's particularly troubling is that he went to the University to hold an "optional" graduation ceremony while a priest in his diocese openly defied him.That's like me telling my son not to have Bob over for dinner & when he does having an "optional" dinner in the back yard while my son eats inside.SICK&COWARDLY!

binstence: you are just thick. I am as normal as your nextdoor neighbor. If you choose WHATEVER, it is your RIGHT, again, what part of that don't you understand? Whatever Mr. Obama is you still can't change the fact that he IS our president. If you don't like the decisions he makes ... then be proactive, write to you congressman? my 'HAD" is not in the ground and my apple cart is just fine. Moot point re: speech, happening as we type..LOLOL he's probably getting his honorary degree right now

binstence: all your speeches and announcements... are NOT going to change the minds of the ppl who want choice. so announce all you want its useless. Call me anything you want if it gives all your religious upbringing a meaning, frankly it really pisses you off that you can't make any change at all. That's what President Obama is all about... change and choice. deal with it

binstence: Do you want the government to come into your home and tell you what you can and cannot do without giving you a choice??? What make you think we should let religion tell us what we can and cannot do..w/out giving us a choice? That my friend is separation of Church & State. No one said it was in the constitution... I'm just trying to get a little common sense out there???? Once again during this dabate if ppl don't see it your way ..it's wrong eh?

If you're embarrassed, then you're not pro-life. After all these years of Notre Dame's inviting anti-Catholic teachers, and flouting Church teachings, it should not be given a chance to make this crucial decision. Remove this "school" from the Catholic directory, and be done with it.
BO is certainly influential, in every negative way possible. Any pro-lifer who believes his beliefs do not affect his policy has lost their mind. Just look at Georgetown.

barack obama is an influential man who is speaking in hopes of inspiring a bunch of graduates.
he is not there to speak his beliefs
