Friggin Referine at the end, you can see he went to make the completed pass signal but "changed his mind" and made a home town call that cost us the game.
People also forget that three referees (Referines) that called this game were from the state of Michigan.
If Michy wasn't lousy these past few years we'd probably still be getting shafted with calls. Close games, we always get boned.
@gtb3000 it seems like when the ground knocks a ball loose, it's not quite having control of the ball. When you're diving and you catch the ball, you are in the air and rolling after impact for much less than a second, so it can definitely be argued that you do not have full control of the ball. Example, in baseball if an outfielder dives to catch a ball, and it goes in his glove but knocks out when he hits the ground, that's not an out, even though he technically caught the ball.
I'm a Michigan fan, but I'm not biased when it comes to previous seasons, as I was neither a hardcore fan nor student in 2002. Also, I believe in rules and in logical explanations. So in no way is this a sarcastic question.
But is that really a catch? He didn't seem to have control of the ball, as it popped out almost immediately after it hit his hands and he hit the ground. I don't know the exact rule here, but doesnt he have to control the ball?
Penn State also got away with a delay of game no-call in OT. Zach Mills hiked the ball a full 2 seconds after the play clock had expired but the ref never threw the flag. Instead of being penalized back to the 30, they got a first and goal at the 5.
PSU also mugged Braylon Edwards on an obvious pass interference earlier in the 4th quarter and no flag was thrown.
Then PSU got the gift first down that wasn't on 3rd and long with Johnson.
both calls were wrong. not to mention, champions find a way to win in the end. its not like it took away their chance to kick the tying field goal. they still had a chance to win it in overtime, and didn't..

Why don't you allow any comments on your anti-OSU videos?

UM fans had more beef than PSU fans here.
