SWTOR - Horrid FPS #1

The video is taken on the Republic Fleet.

Load at that time was average if even low.

Machine Specs:
Intel iCore5 2500k OC @ 3.7Ghz
Asus Maximus IV Genz/Gen3
Asus GTX580 CU
Corsair Vengeance 8GB @ 1600Mhz
Thermaltek 750W
Thermaltek Air Cooler Hyper TX3

When its high, the FPS is even lower.

Some interesting facts:

1) The CPU and GPU alike averaged about 50% usage while in the Fleet and the FPS was low.

2) When the FPS are high for e.x. while in the ship, the CPU drops to around 30% and GPU skyrockets to 90%-100%.

Conclussion:
The FPS are low not because the machine cant handle it. When its low both CPU and GPU subperform.

When the FPS peak, the GPU gets maxed out with much much lower CPU effort.

your card is good and has alot of potential. I wont deny you that your system ought to run the game at very satisfying levels. SWTOR is subperforming atm.

If you switch the game to window mode and launch the task manager CPU monitor applet you will most probably see your Cores maxing out.

The dual core is a serious nono for this game. Quad core is what drives it up - and even then its bugged. If you gonna upgrade something, start with your OS switch to 64bit for starters.

I get crap fps even on low settings. My computer out dated but should be able to play 40 to 60 fps on lowest settings. Have cps 710 dual core 2.4 ghz, 4 gig ram, os 32 bit, gtx 560 ti. I'm above minimum on everything but game is playing like crap. Especially in pvp and any city.
