There is no reason to catch an infection in the hospital. In fact, these hospital-borne infecftions are now called NEVER events. Best way to prevent says Committee to Reduce Infection Disease (RID) Founder Betsy McCaughey: WASH YOUR HANDS. And insist that all hospital personnel do so also, even including the doctor. And on: doctor's stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, hospital scrubs -- they are all "germy and deadly". Learn more ways to avoid infection on Getting Your Money's Worth with Judith West.
Interesting stats on hospital infections. I am certain that a medical procedure in a hospital is likely to be orders of magnitude higher than building a car or a computer > too many variables with too many outcomes > auto assembly or PC assembly is a fairly sequential process; surgery does not always produce the same results.

Was this really Betsy (Ross) McCaughey, and was she really fired by Pataki for being incompetent? Anyone who sees how hospitals are CLEANED today can see why there are infections. While I was in, the cleaning woman drug a pail of FILTHY water from room to room to wash the floors with! Never changed it! Where is the Board of Health?

Love the John Stewart Interview!
Betsy was so slammed in a humorous way... so much so she had to resign from her board post at Cantel Medical! Sweet!
