it emits a very tiny amount of light at the base of the led and you wouldn't see that anyhow because you wouldn't be paying attention to that small amount of extremely dim light.

I am CANADIAN, I know they are available in Canada now. When they were first released, they were (underline)Not(underline) available in Canada.
